Technical Project Manager

Job Description On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking a Technical Project Manager for an in-flight agile, cloud software development project as well as several projects involving Digital Content Management. Responsibilities Provide Project Management services for the development, implementation, and support of related applications. Provide program support and project management within the branch as required. Provide technical leadership to the project team. Manage and lead multiple projects and teams concurrently. Provide architectural guidance for both cloud and non-cloud-based solutions. Assign work, monitor progress, and provide project management direction to branch staff and consultants, aligning with department goals, strategies, and standards, and subject to branch oversight. Escalate issues and risks promptly and appropriately. Deliver weekly status reports to the Director and Senior Manager of the Digital Content Management and Delivery branch, providing updates on project status, task reviews, and associated timelines. Lead or assist in the development of business cases and other technical documents as needed. Collaborate with clients to gather project requirements, as necessary. Report on projects and manage them using industry-standard project management practices and tools. Identify, assess, mitigate, and communicate project risks effectively. Use AI assisted tools, where appropriate and as approved by the Province, to enhance project management effectiveness, with all project management decisions and outcomes validated by the technical project manager. Qualifications The proposed Resource must have one (1) of the following: University degree or two-year diploma in computer science or a related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution and seven (7) years of experience on web-based software development projects. OR One-year certificate in computer science or a related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution and nine (9) years of experience on web-based software development projects. The proposed Resource must possess: A minimum of three (3) years directly project managing agile web-software development project(s). Resource’s experience managing web software development projects, including agile delivery leadership, backlog management, stakeholder coordination, sprint planning, and team delivery. Include relevant project details such as years experience, project objectives, the resource’s role and responsibilities, and outcomes achieved. Resource’s experience managing web software development projects on cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) including release governance, environment management, CI/CD processes, and deployment coordination. Include relevant project details such as years experience, project objectives, the Resource’s role and responsibilities, and outcomes achieved. Resource’s experience and familiarity using project management tools such as Azure DevOps, Smartsheet or equivalent. Resource’s experience managing web software development projects involving multiple integrated components, authentication/identity services, external system integrations, content management functionality, and large-scale access by public users. Include relevant project details such as years experience, project objectives, the Resource’s role and responsibilities, and outcomes achieved. Resource’s experience providing technical leadership including leading technical discussions, influencing solution design, resolving technical delivery issues, and bridging business and engineering teams.
