ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY Our Ottawa team is growing and is seeking a full-time Mechanical Project Coordinator who must be skilled, detail oriented, and result focused. The Mechanical Project Coordinator will be responsible for institutional and industrial projects. Duties to include planning, organizing, coordinating, and supporting technical workflow on assigned construction projects related to the electrical and mechanical field. The successful candidate will report directly to the Project Manager. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist the Project Manager to ensure project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards are in accordance with company policy and contract specifications. Assist in planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established timelines. Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships. Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients. Trade and subcontractor coordination. Document control. Purchase supplies and materials as required to complete project. Ensure site is operating in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards. COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS Change Orientation Communicates Effectively Continuous Learning Customer Focus Holds Self and Others Accountable Problem Solving and Innovation Teamwork and Collaboration Values and Respects Others EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS A College Diploma in Construction or Mechanical Engineering Technology or a University Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience in the trades may substitute for education requirements. WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role. Experience in the construction industry would be considered an asset SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Project and Outlook Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills Ability to establish a strong working relationship with co-workers, vendors and clients The expected salary range for this role is $60,000 - $70,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as group insurance benefits, pension plan, annual discretionary bonus, career development programs, and other HR programs.
