The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, governance, and successful delivery of large, complex, and high-impact technology initiatives. This role requires a seasoned project leader with strong experience managing cross-functional teams, navigating complex stakeholder environments, and driving outcomes across business, technology, vendor, and executive leadership groups. The successful candidate will bring strong project delivery discipline, proactive risk and issue management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop clear, executive-ready presentations and updates. This individual must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities, influencing stakeholders at all levels, and ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and aligned to business objectives. What You Will Do Lead the planning, execution, governance, and delivery of large-scale, complex technology and business initiatives, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed scope, timelines, budget, quality expectations, and business outcomes. Manage complex initiatives that span multiple business units, technology teams, vendors, and stakeholder groups, ensuring clear accountability, alignment, and transparency throughout the project lifecycle. Develop and maintain strong relationships with executive sponsors, senior leaders, business stakeholders, technology partners, vendors, and project teams to support effective decision-making and delivery success. Provide clear, concise, and executive-ready project updates, dashboards, presentations, and recommendations to senior leadership and executive leadership teams. Proactively identify, assess, manage, and escalate project risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions, ensuring mitigation strategies are defined, tracked, and executed in a timely manner. Lead project governance activities, including steering committee updates, status reporting, decision tracking, RAID management, financial tracking, change control, and stakeholder communications. Translate complex project information into meaningful insights and recommendations for different audiences, including project teams, sponsors, senior leaders, and executive stakeholders. Manage all aspects of project engagement, including planning, communications, resources, budget, vendor relationships, change management, risks, issues, and delivery reporting. Understand and manage interdependencies between business needs, technology solutions, operational impacts, resource capacity, financial considerations, and organizational priorities. Work closely with technology leads, business partners, vendors, and portfolio stakeholders to ensure project delivery supports broader portfolio objectives and organizational priorities. Establish and maintain effective project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and reporting mechanisms to monitor progress and drive accountability. Facilitate decision-making by preparing clear options, impact assessments, recommendations, and escalation materials for senior stakeholders. Lead and support cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance culture. Participate in the development and continuous improvement of project management standards, delivery practices, tools, templates, and methodologies. Identify opportunities to improve delivery effectiveness, stakeholder engagement, communication practices, governance, and risk management across projects. What You Bring To The Role Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Technology, or a related field. PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent project management certification is preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive project management experience, with demonstrated success leading large, complex technology or business transformation initiatives. Proven experience managing senior stakeholders, executive sponsors, steering committees, cross-functional teams, and vendor partners. Strong experience with proactive risk, issue, dependency, and decision management across complex project environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver presentations, project updates, and recommendations to senior and executive leadership teams. Strong facilitation, influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage ambiguity, competing priorities, and complex organizational dynamics while maintaining delivery focus and stakeholder confidence. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-support skills. Experience managing project budgets, resources, timelines, schedules, change control, and governance reporting. Strong understanding of Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid project delivery methodologies. Proficiency with project management and reporting tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and other delivery management platforms. Ability to work independently while also leading and collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams. Experience supporting technology delivery, business transformation, process improvement, or enterprise-level initiatives is considered an asset. KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information The expected base salary range for this position is $106,500 to $156,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications.
