Job Code: 27216 Status: Temporary Full Time (up to 6 months) Location: Providence Care Hospital Union: Non-Union Wage: $58.92 - $69.33/hr Posting Period: September 15, 2026 - September 21, 2026 The Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day clinical and general operational management within the assigned programs. Under general supervision of the Senior Director(s), the Program Manager ensures quality of care to clients/patients, planning human and material resources, adhering to corporate and professional standards and corporate policies and procedures. The Program Manager utilizes clinical experience, knowledge and leadership skills to ensure the provision of our Approach to Care. The Program Manager will ensure that review mechanisms are designed to achieve optimal outcomes and recovery for clients/patients and families. In addition, the Program Manager promotes service to clients/patients and other community service providers facilitating client/patient and family focused community systems development. Education & Experience Degree in a Health Care Discipline, preferably at a Masters’ level; an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered Current unrestricted registration with the Ontario professional college of discipline, or eligibility to obtain Minimum of three years of experience as a unit-level Inpatient Manager in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment along with demonstrated strategic, business and operational planning experience; program management in a mental health environment, preferable Five years of experience in health care management, including administration of policies and procedures, with relevant clinical practice with target populations Demonstrated experience in dealing effectively with internal partners such as senior management, departmental managers and professional practice leaders and external partners Experience in project management an asset Experience in supervision of interprofessional teams within a unionized environment Position Duties & Responsibilities Establishes standards of care in accordance with patient/client needs, profession specific practice standards and Program requirements, in conjunction with the Senior Director(s) Coordinates and maximizes available resources in assigned areas of care and in conjunction with appropriate stakeholders, to meet patient/client care needs and goals Leads the interprofessional team to deliver quality, evidence-based, person-centred services to clients/patients Leads the recruitment of new staff for the interprofessional team, working with support from Human Resources to coordinate recruitment, interviewing, hiring and orientation Works collaboratively with interprofessional teams and community partners to ensure effective and efficient services are provided Works in collaboration with the Program leadership teams in the development and implementation of appropriate evaluation methodologies to support quality client/patient care and efficient and effective utilization of all service resources Participates with and supports the direction and vision of the Senior and Clinical Director(s)/Lead(s) by actively engaging staff in the achievement of strategic and operational priorities, goals and objectives and demonstrating/reinforcing the Mission, Vision & Values of the organization in all aspects of care delivery Creates an accountability framework for programs and streams which communicates clear expectations to staff through the collaborative establishment of goals and objectives for individual program staff Develops annual portfolio budget for approval of the Senior Director(s) Manages annual portfolio expenditures within budget and submits budget reports as required, approving operating and capital expenditures within authorized limits Why Work At Providence Care Hospital Specialized sub-acute Care in rehabilitation, mental health services, complex medical management and palliative care A hospital striving for excellence in care, education and research Committed to people centred approach to care delivery Competitive salaries with excellent full-time benefits Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) State of the Art Building with on-site parking On-site café and cafeteria with a variety of food options Corporate and unit/service specific orientation for new hires Focus on Healthy Workplace & Culture of Quality Employee & Family Assistance Program Education, mentorship and bursary opportunities Fully affiliated with Queen’s University and St. Lawrence College and other academic institutions Located on the shores of Lake Ontario surrounded by park land and walking trails Disclosure: We do not use artificial intelligence to screen, assess, or make selection decisions in our recruitment process.
