Position Summary: Stella-Jones Steel Structures is seeking a disciplined and customer-focused Project Manager to lead the execution of complex steel fabrication projects from contract award through final delivery. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining strong communication with customers and internal stakeholders. This role requires strong organizational skills, financial awareness, technical understanding, and the ability to manage multiple cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is hybrid, based out of our Candiac office, with 3 days in office and 2 days working from home per week. The role also requires a willingness to travel to the United States up to 50% of the time to meet with clients, visit plants, and attend industry conferences. Key Responsibilities: Project Execution & Delivery Manage multiple projects simultaneously from kickoff to final completion. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules. Ensure alignment between Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Planning, Shipping, and Quality. Identify and proactively manage risks. Monitor progress against milestones and contractual commitments. Ensure timely resolution of technical or operational issues. Financial Management Monitor project budgets and cost performance. Track labor, material, and subcontractor costs. Identify and manage change orders. Protect project margins through disciplined oversight. Provide regular financial forecasting and reporting. Customer Communication & Relationship Management Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers. Maintain proactive and transparent communication. Manage expectations and resolve concerns professionally. Support long-term customer relationships through service excellence. Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with Engineering to ensure design clarity and constructability. Coordinate with the team to ensure realistic scheduling. Align with Supply Chain to mitigate material risks. Facilitate internal project meetings to maintain alignment. Risk Management & Quality Assurance Review contracts to understand scope and obligations. Identify risks early and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure adherence to quality standards (CWB, AWS, customer specifications). Participate in post-project reviews and lessons learned. Reporting & Documentation Maintain accurate project documentation. Prepare internal and customer progress reports. Update dashboards and project tracking systems. Ensure contractual compliance and record keeping. All related tasks. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 5–10 years of experience in industrial project management (steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing preferred). PMP certification (asset). Strong understanding of project scheduling and cost control. Experience managing multi-million-dollar projects. Familiarity with contract management and change order processes. Calm and solution-oriented under pressure Bilingual (English & French) to facilitate communication with all clients.
