About AIST Midwest Chapter
The Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) is an international technical non-profit association with over 18,000 members representing more than 70 countries and including engineers, operators, corporate administrators, researchers and educators. The mission of the organization is to advance the technical development, production, processing and application of iron and steel. The AIST Midwest Chapter is dedicated to supporting and promoting the iron and steel industry within the Midwest region. All Midwest Chapter activities support the chapter’s academic scholarship program for higher education; in 2023, the chapter granted over $42,000 in scholarships to qualified students interested in the industry. Annual chapter events include: • Vendor fair (September) • Monthly dinner meetings with industry related technical and business speakers (October through April) • Young Professional’s night, highlighting early career leaders in the industry (November) • Holiday dinner dance and gala (December) • Industry golf outing (June) Chapter Geographic Boundaries: • Northwest Indiana • Illinois • Wisconsin • Minnesota • Iowa • North Dakota • South Dakota • Nebraska
