About the role

Your Impact at Empire Empire Homes is seeking a Manager, Interior Design and Merchandising! In this position, you will be responsible for the design of sales centres, model homes, and spec packages, while also managing the product libraries and selections within the Design Centre to ensure alignment with industry design trends. This role is located at our Empire Canada Head Office in Vaughan, ON. This posting is for a replacement position. The expected annual salary range for this role in $100,000 - $120,000/year. This position is also eligible to participate in our short-term incentive program. Please note the compensation information shown above is a general guideline only. What We Are Looking For: 7+ years experience in a Design Centre within the new home building industry. Strong knowledge of design standards, colour selections, and product knowledge. Demonstrated ability to work with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to handle difficult situations and conversations with diplomacy. Excellent attention to detail and time management skills. Familiarity with Newstar is an asset. What You’ll Be Doing Each Day In collaboration with procurement and the design centre, lead the development and maintenance of existing product libraries and identification of new upgrade options. Develop pre-planned options and kitchen/bathroom packages across models. Ensure product catalogue aligns with market demand by gathering insights from appointments, attending trade shows, and maintaining a strong rapport with suppliers. Monitor industry, design, and consumer trends to inform product updates. Curate product selections for design boards and 3D renderings in collaboration with sales and marketing. Prepare budgets, forecasts, and reports related to all sales centres and model home interior design fees and FF&E. Research potential Designers, Issue Non-Disclosure Agreement, Request for Proposal, review proposals and manage contract award process with selected designers. Review design invoices and validate budget alignment with finance prior to approval. Plan, design, and deliver sales centres and model homes in collaboration with third-party interior designers. Ensure all selections align with consumer preferences and Empire design centre offering Collaborate with the construction team and liaise with designers / trades throughout construction process. Oversee refresh of models and sales centre displays to keep current, competitive, and align with offering. Select design packages for all spec homes and align selections with budget and buyer preferences. Work closely with the marketing team to create “customer ready” spec packages for the sales team. Merchandise and furnish spec homes and align selections with budgets and consumer preferences.
