RISC Inc. is seeking a Risk Associate to become a member of the Real Estate Finance Risk Management Consulting Team. Based in Toronto and reporting to the Executive Managing Director, the successful candidate will manage significant and complex components of RISC’s market-leading advisory services, working at the intersection of insurance, real estate finance, and institutional lending. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical ability, superior communication skills, and a genuine passion for building client relationships across Canadian property markets, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven professional environment.

Key Responsibilities Develop specialized knowledge and manage large, complex components of client engagements across RISC’s core service lines Conduct and oversee detailed real estate insurance risk assessments and appraisals on property loan transactions Provide senior-level consulting services to financial institutions, real estate investors, and developers on insurance risk exposure Liaise regularly with real estate lenders, investors, developers, and insurance brokers to gather, interpret, and communicate risk information Cultivate and maintain professional relationships across the real estate finance, investment, development, and insurance communities Maintain a current understanding of real estate market activity and insurance risk trends across Canada Prepare clear, accurate, and well-documented reports and recommendations for institutional lender clients Support business development efforts, including client presentations and proposal materials, as required

Education and Experience: University degree in a related discipline (business, finance, insurance, or real estate) Minimum 2+ years of analytical experience in insurance, real estate finance, or a related professional environment; experience within the insurance industry is strongly preferred Working knowledge of real property insurance fundamentals is required; direct industry experience is considered a strong asset Experience or knowledge of the commercial real estate sector(s) is considered an asset Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation, or progress toward same, from a recognized Canadian institution is considered an asset

Qualifications: Advanced computer literacy and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Exceptional attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-management skills Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable taking initiative in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Superior written and verbal communication skills in English are required; working proficiency in French is considered a strong asset
