JOB SUMMARY The Quality & Patient Safety Manager, BSRX Specialty Nursing Services, provides leadership in the implementation, ongoing management, reporting and continuous improvement of a Quality, Patient Safety, and Patient Experience Program, aligned to the National programs and strategies. This role sits on the BSRx Specialty Nursing Management Team collaborating with Specialty Nursing Clinical and Operations team as well as with key members from Patient Support Services (PSS), the Quality & Patient Safety Manager will build capacity and advance a culture of safety, quality, and clinical engagement. The Quality & Patient Safety Manager will coordinate the development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of systems and processes to integrate quality, patient safety & experience principles and practices throughout the Specialty Nursing program. Additionally, the incumbent will provide direct leadership through the Specialty Nursing Program’s continuous Accreditation Canada survey journey.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Accountabilities: • Leads an integrated approach to quality, risk, patient safety and experience • Provide direct leadership and support regarding Accreditation Canada Survey preparedness for the Specialty Nursing Program o Collaborate with Accreditation Canada and key internal stakeholders to gather evidence and evaluate compliance and alignment to Required Organizational Practices, team standards, frameworks, policies, indicators, best practices and guidelines o Raise awareness and understanding of accreditation and its alignment to Bayshore’s strategic plan and priorities o Support the development and delivery of educational and communication strategies o Internal Quality Audit Team (QAT) coordination and support as required • Lead and manage Quality Specialist or equivalent role (s) directly reporting to this role • Report and document Adverse Events as per Pharmacovigilance requirements • Lead the implementation and ongoing management of a BSRx specific Quality Management Program aligned to the National Program and best practice strategies. • Provide leadership in development, optimization, and sustainability of a BSRx Specialty Nursing specific Patient Safety Program aligned to the National Program and strategies. Supports the team in the development of achievable Corrective and Preventative Action Plans (CAPAs) deriving from any internal and/or external audits. Approves and monitors the CAPA plan timelines and deliverables for completion. • Provide leadership on the continued management of a robust incident management approach, management and sustainability of a just reporting culture. Works collaboratively with BSRx Specialty Nursing Clinical Practice Manager to identify and engage the required local BSRx Specialty Nursing teams in criticalincident reviews • Including but not limited to clinical chart reviews, quality of care reviews, FMEAs and reporting of Patient Safety trends. • Provides leadership in the development and implementation of a specific BSRx Specialty Nursing Patient Experience Program aligned with National and as per the Pharma vendors and PSS KPIs. • Lead the end of end management of the Emergency Preparedness & Response strategy for the BSRx Specialty Nursing Program in collaboration with the National Manager, Quality, Patient Safety & Experience • In collaboration with BSRx Specialty Nursing Clinical Practice Manager, engages and builds knowledge capacity within the Specialty Pharma Nurse Managers (SPNMs) and Regional Operations Managers (ROMs) to promote a high reliability learning culture and integrates the quality and patient safety principles within BSRx Specialty Nursing annual goals and objectives • Support to address any external third party and regulatory audit findings relevant to the BSRx Specialty Nursing Program in collaboration with the BSRx Quality Compliance team • Build capacity for quality improvement through coaching, mentoring and enabling staff throughout the organization • Collaborate with National CQ-HIP team and BSRx Quality Compliance team, and PSS team as required to implement quality initiatives in alignment with organizational, divisional and program levels goals • Supports the policy and procedure management process in partnership with CQ-HIP, BSRx Quality, PSS and Specialty Nursing Clinical and Operations team • Lead the development and delivery of Quality and Patient Safety related educational and communication materials

Secondary Accountabilities: • Participate in any internal and/or external quality audits as required • Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly Quality reports as required • Prepare monthly presentation for monthly department meetings as required • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities • Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures. • Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Is responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns. • Active leadership role in the design, implementation, adoption and sustainability of integrateddigital health systems (e.g. Connex, electronic medical records, portals, etc.), for professionals and paraprofessionals, resulting in greater efficiency in the utilization of digital health systems for the delivery of safe, high-quality evidence-based care. • Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel • Complete other tasks as requested

QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience • Regulated Health Professional in good standing with their college is preferred • Previous experience in leading and facilitating Accreditation Canada survey readiness in a Large Healthcare setting • Strong knowledge and experience with conducting Quality of Care Reviews, Clinical Chart Reviews and FMEAs. • Previous experience in healthcare industry leadership (7+ Years) required • Experience in leading large-scale projects and Change Management strategies • A master’s degree in healthcare discipline is strongly preferred • Certification and/or previous experience in Quality Improvement & Patient Safety • Working knowledge of applicable legislation, college regulations, standards and scope of practice • Knowledge and experience in researching information, data analysis and using statistics • Good understanding of statistical concepts, Lean concepts and proactive risk management

Other Skills and Abilities • Exceptional customer relations and teamwork skills; intermediation to advanced skills in general, administrative or executive level writing skills; strong commitment to continual learning; fluency in written and spoken English. • Comfort with statistics and trends analysis • Ability to handle multiple problems simultaneously • Ability to communicate in French is a definite asset.
