Create Compounding Pharmacy is excited to announce the opening of our brand-new Edmonton location, scheduled to open in November 2026. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Pharmacist to join our team as the Pharmacy Licensee and play a key leadership role in launching and establishing our new Edmonton operation. This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist who is interested in combining clinical practice, leadership, pharmacy operations, and business growth. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training at our Calgary Head Office — our largest compounding pharmacy location — before transitioning to the Edmonton location.

Job Summary The Pharmacist / Licensee will be responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and effective operation of the new Edmonton location. This role combines clinical pharmacy responsibilities with operational leadership, including pharmacy oversight, staff development, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with Create’s Calgary-based teams.
Key Responsibilities Operations & Leadership: Supervising staff, overseeing daily operations, and functioning as the direct manager for the call center team and other departmental managers. Performance & Training: Managing the onboarding, training, and performance of existing and new employees, including call center staff. Compliance & Licensing: Ensuring strict adherence to company policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and managing licensing and certification requirements. Clinical & Technical Duties: Providing direct patient counselling, completing direct billing of compounded medications and clinical prescriptions through insurance, and ensuring accuracy through clinical checks on prescriptions and formulations. Interdepartmental Coordination: Communicating seamlessly across the Call Center, Lab, and Logistics departments to facilitate efficient order fulfillment and delivery. Specialized Development: Developing advanced knowledge in compounding non-sterile, sterile, and hazardous products. Project Management: Assisting with the implementation of new corporate projects and initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements Must be a registered Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacy. Minimum 2 years of registration as a Pharmacist in Canadian jurisdiction. Must demonstrate the qualifications, experience, and/or support required to fulfill the responsibilities of a Licensee role. Strong commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence, and regulatory compliance. Excellent knowledge of pharmacy practice standards, medication management, and quality assurance processes. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently, take ownership, and lead pharmacy operations in a new location. Ability to collaborate effectively with pharmacy, laboratory, logistics, and administrative teams. Previous Pharmacy Manager or Licensee experience is considered an asset but is not required. Previous experience in business operations, team leadership, or managing pharmacy workflows is considered an asset. Interest in developing expertise in compounding pharmacy, including non-sterile, sterile, and hazardous preparations. Willingness to complete comprehensive training at our Calgary Head Office. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to support process improvement initiatives. Professional, patient-focused approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
