About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in mining to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in delivering complex capital projects within the mining and mineral processing industries. This leadership role involves overseeing projects through all phases of their lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and proposal development to detailed engineering, construction support, and commissioning. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to define project strategies, manage technical and commercial risks, and ensure the successful execution of projects within scope, schedule, and budget parameters. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale mining and heavy industrial projects, including mineral processing facilities and related infrastructure. Experience with NI 43-101 technical studies and the ability to act as a Qualified Person or collaborate with Qualified Persons is highly desirable.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering disciplines such as Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Mining, or related fields. A minimum of 15 years of experience managing capital projects in the mining or mineral processing sectors is essential, with demonstrated success in overseeing projects valued up to $200 million TIC. Candidates should have substantial experience supporting or managing technical study phases, including Preliminary Economic Assessments (PEA), Pre-Feasibility Studies (PFS), and Feasibility Studies (FS). Proficiency in project controls, scheduling (using MS Project or similar tools), budgeting, and cost forecasting is required. Candidates must have a strong aptitude for managing project risks, change management processes, and maintaining excellent client relationships. Eligibility to act as a Qualified Person under NI 43-101, or experience working closely with Qualified Persons, is preferred. Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and client locations as needed are also required.

Responsibilities

Leadership:

Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams across various engineering disciplines and geographic locations, fostering a collaborative environment. Develop comprehensive project plans, including objectives, risk management frameworks, schedules, and deliverables. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Provide mentorship and leadership to project engineers and technical staff, promoting professional growth and development.

Technical Expertise

Oversee engineering delivery for greenfield and brownfield mining and mineral processing projects, ensuring technical excellence. Support and manage engineering scopes for various project phases, including PEA, PFS, FS, FEED, and detailed engineering. Develop scope definitions, cost estimates, and execution strategies during proposal and study phases. Ensure all engineering deliverables adhere to quality standards and align with Sacré-Davey’s Quality Management System. Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts to achieve integrated and technically sound project execution.

Stakeholder Communication

Act as the primary contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships through clear and professional communication. Present project updates, strategies, and technical information to clients and stakeholders effectively. Facilitate alignment among engineering teams, project sponsors, and external partners. Manage scope changes and client expectations with transparency and professionalism.

Compliance And Standards

Ensure all projects comply with relevant engineering codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Oversee project phase reviews and incorporate lessons learned into future practices. Provide technical oversight for NI 43-101 compliant studies and documentation, supporting technical report sign-off processes.

Strategic Contributions

Support business development efforts through proposal preparation, scope definition, and effort estimation. Identify and implement opportunities for improving project execution methodologies and client satisfaction. Contribute to the continuous enhancement of Sacré-Davey’s project management practices. Nurture long-term relationships within the mining sector to foster repeat business and strategic partnerships.
