About the role
Jumpspark is reinventing the way companies understand what their consumers want.
We make it radically easier for our clients to unlock deep consumer insight - without the complexity or stress that typically comes with it. We work with world-class brands to help them connect with their consumers in more strategic and human-centered ways.
As we scale, we’re looking for a Research Director to lead the execution of qualitative research projects for our Fortune 100 clients. This is a client-facing role for someone who can run a project team and vouch for the quality of what goes out the door - from who gets recruited to what the final report says.
What will you do? You’ll act as the central point of accountability on every project you lead - directing recruiters, research coordinators, and research analysts, and making sure the client always has what they need.
On a typical project, you’ll: Lead qualitative research projects end-to-end, owning delivery against timeline, scope, and quality. Brief and direct recruiters, making sure they have the criteria and information they need to recruit the right participants. Oversee research coordinators, who manage respondent communications and the logistics of getting each study up and running. Oversee research analysts, and make sure their summary reports are insightful, impactful, and directly address the client’s needs. Serve as the client’s main point of contact - fielding their requests, translating them into direction for the team, and keeping them updated. Flag risks or quality gaps early, rather than letting them surface in the final deliverable.
You: Have 3+ years of experience in qualitative market research, including leading projects from kickoff to delivery. Have experience directing or managing others (recruiters, analysts, video editors, etc.) Can critically evaluate screeners, discussion guides, and reports, and know the difference between a good one and a great one. Communicate confidently and professionally with senior client stakeholders. Are comfortable owning a project with minimal oversight - you don’t need to be told what “good” looks like. Are highly organized and able to run multiple concurrent projects without dropping details. Have reliable, high-speed internet and your own computer setup. Can be based anywhere in the world!
Nice to have: Direct experience working with CPG or other Fortune 100 clients. Experience with tools like Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Slack, Zoom, Claude and ChatGPT. Background mentoring or managing junior researchers or analysts.
To apply: Please send your resume to jobs@jumpspark.ca and include your rate expectations.
