Job Description
The Associate Director, Scientific Strategy blends advanced scientific communication with growing strategic leadership. This role contributes to both content development and scientific planning, supporting integrated medical communications initiatives across multiple therapeutic areas. The ideal candidate brings strong scientific acumen, independent writing capability, and an interest in helping shape forward-thinking engagement strategies alongside senior leaders.
What You’ll Do:
Develop scientifically accurate, compelling content across formats, ensuring clarity, integrity, and alignment with project objectives. Conduct literature reviews and synthesize complex data into clear narratives that support scientific platforms and communication strategies. Lead project briefs and provide guidance that enables cross-functional teams to execute high-quality medical communications deliverables. Collaborate with senior strategists to support planning for advisory boards, workshops, and other strategic initiatives. Engage directly with clients as a scientific partner, contributing to presentations, discussions, and opportunities for account growth.
Qualifications
Required:
5+ years of experience in medical communications, medical education, or related scientific communication roles. Proven ability to develop high-quality medical content across therapeutic areas. Strong scientific literacy with the ability to learn new therapeutic areas quickly. Experience synthesizing literature, data, and clinical insights into clear, accurate narratives. Excellent communication skills and confidence presenting to internal and client teams. Ability to manage multiple deliverables independently while meeting quality and timeline expectations.
Desired:
Scientific degree, with PhD or MD preferred. Experience supporting strategic planning or advisory board development. Prior involvement in new business proposals or pitch participation. Interest in evolving into a broader strategic leadership role. Comfort working with digital or innovative formats for scientific communication. Enthusiasm for integrating AI into scientific and strategic workflows.

This posting is for an existing vacancy at Klick.
The base salary range for this position is between CAD $125,000 - $150,000. The final amount offered will be determined based on several factors such as a candidate’s work location, their unique skill set, education, and prior work experience.
